Perhaps the most significant advantage of using adjustable dumbbells is the cost-savings benefits they offer. A pair of flexible dumbbells with weights costs roughly $150 to $250. In comparison, fixed-weight dumbbells run about $1 per pound. Therefore, a couple of 20-pound fixed-weight dumbbells costs about $40. Assuming you buy multiple pairs in varying weights, you’ll easily spend more on adjustable than fixed-weight dumbbells.

2) Fixed-Weight Dumbbells

Fixed-weight dumbbells are the most widespread type of dumbbells. Unlike their adjustable counterpart, fixed-weight dumbbells don’t support additional weights. Instead, they feature a single, static weight that cannot change.
